3 Signs You Need Alone Time at Work - The Muse
3 Signs You Need Alone Time at Work - The Muse 3 Signs You Need Alone Time at Work As per my Myers-Briggs test, I'm a social butterfly. Truly, I like being around individuals, yes I hunger for consideration, and indeed, I do get a large portion of my beneficial vitality from others. Be that as it may, I additionally like being separated from everyone else. Indeed, I'm most agreeable when I'm without anyone else. Also, when I'm overpowered grinding away, I'd preferably go for a stroll around the square solo as opposed to snatching an espresso and venting. Does this sound like you? You're not insane, you simply recognize what accomplishes and doesn't work for you. Here are three major signs that you need a bit of personal time-regardless of how social you ordinarily are: 1. You're Snapping at Others Did you simply rage at a collaborator for playing music too noisily at her work area? Or on the other hand possibly you gave an unforgiving investigate to a partner who continues committing a similar error on her week by week reports. You definitely know this-however when you're excessively cranky with individuals for minor slip-ups, it most likely methods you have to enjoy a reprieve. A strict one. At whatever point conceivable, I'd propose genuinely leaving and holding off on returning until you're feeling increasingly reasonable. On the off chance that there's as yet an issue that should be settled (like those report botches), apologize first for your unexpected upheaval and afterward address it. What's more, in the event that you snapped at somebody for reasons unknown, you're likewise going to need to present appropriate reparations rapidly. 2. You're Struggling to Come Up With Good Ideas At the point when you're this near your next huge thought, interruption's the exact opposite thing you need. Also, regardless of whether it's not purposeful, your companions are an interruption. Their easygoing exchange close to your work area, their requests to go along with them for an espresso run, their brisk questions-these are for the most part extraordinary when you have the opportunity, however when you're considering something significant or earnest they'll just postpone the procedure. For instance, when I need to conceptualize an article for the ambiguous future, sure, I have the opportunity to plunk down with my partners and work through thoughts. Be that as it may, when my piece is expected the following day, I log out of Slack, toss on earphones, take a load off on the lounge chair, and compose now and then for a few hours alone. It's not hostile to social-it's me doing the main priority to do my most ideal work. 3. You're One More Problem Away From Crying at Your Desk Similarly as your colleagues can be incredible pressure relievers-constraining you to take breaks when you've been consuming vitality for quite a long time or tuning in to you vent about your issues they can likewise, tragically, add to your pressure. We experience this constantly. At the point when we're experiencing our own stuff, somebody goes along and tosses their issues onto our heap and keeping in mind that we need to enable, we to can scarcely keep ourselves up. I don't suggest turning into a loner each time you're feeling restless, yet in case you're somebody who's accustomed to locking onto bunches when difficulties gain out of power, you may need to reconsider your technique. Figuring out how to function through your weights all alone isn't just engaging, it's reflective it constrains you to search internally and acknowledge your feelings with no guarantees, instead of need to rationalize them. Outgoing individuals need alone time the same amount of as anyone else. We burden ourselves with marks of shame that in case we're not with individuals, we're not acting naturally, and that is simply false. All the more significantly, everybody ought to figure out how to blossom with their own-supposing that we can do this much performance, consider the amount we could achieve together. The promise of professional development improves retention. Workers become more confident when they feel like they can perform their jobs effectively and are, therefore, easier to retain. For employers, itâs a win-win situation. Providing access to career growth opportunities attracts applicants. Additionally, incentives like these show new employees that you care and are as interested in their professional growth as they are. How to Start? Technical skills are just as important for career development as soft skills. Key Things to Remember While Hiring Online - Spark Hire
Key Things to Remember While Hiring Online - Spark Hire With the economy skipping back more gradually than we'd like, and there being, much of the time, many candidates for each employment opportunity, managers are genuinely appreciating a purchasers' market. Qualified and profoundly energetic workers are anxious to fill any position accessible. However, managers would be shrewd not to take an excessive amount of confidence in how great the accessible work pool is to them at this moment, and need to remain similarly as brilliant as they have been the point at which the forthcoming representatives were in the catbird seat. In spite of online business sites having been around for some time, the online quest for new employment universe has extended and changed drastically, even over the most recent couple of years. New instruments are accessible for the two bosses and occupation searchers which, whenever utilized accurately, can make the matchup procedure simpler than it's at any point been. Like any apparatus, be that as it may, their inappropriate use can make the procedure increasingly troublesome, and even outcome in not really minor catastrophes for the two gatherings. Here are a couple of interesting points when searching for new representatives on the web. Pick the privilege online employment posting asset There are online occupation posting locales to meet for all intents and purposes any business' requirements and financial plan. The greatest one is Monster, with work postings and online resumes around the world. It is a particularly decent asset for organizations that are hoping to fill positions in different areas, or have workplaces in numerous urban areas, and their database of potential candidates' list of references is tremendous. The expense for posting your activity runs anyplace from about $200 to about $400. On the off chance that yours is a little nearby organization â" particularly in the event that you have a limited spending plan â" you may secure that Craigslist position postings are a superior fit. By navigating to your state and city's page, you will confine your up-and-comer search to your own zone, along these lines removing potential candidates that aren't in your prompt market. Particularly for center administration, gifted and incompetent hands on positions, Craigslist is regularly the first go-to for work searchers. What's more, the expense for businesses is low â" from allowed to about $75, contingent on the individual market. Another great asset is Linkedin. This expert systems administration site has more than 135 million individuals, and you can securely accept that a great many them are available to considering a vocation switch, regardless of whether they aren't effectively looking. One advantage is that the webpage offers you the capacity to perform in any event a superficial pre-screening of candidates by taking a gander at their own Linkedin pages, their online list of qualifications, and their support in different Linkedin gatherings of which they are individuals. The expense for posting a vocation is sensible, for the most part about $200 or less in an enormous market, to some degree lower in littler markets, and somewhat higher in the most smoking activity markets. There are heaps of other employment posting assets that you can find with a brisk hunt; unmistakably more than will fit in a short article. Become more acquainted with a candidate a piece in advance Individual verifications have become the standard for organizations' candidate screening process. Very frequently, be that as it may, an individual verification offers an inadequate image of the candidate's character and character. Another asset that numerous if not most businesses are utilizing is to check a candidate's informal organization pages. Facebook and Twitter, for instance, offer a less-purified outline of what a candidate resembles when the person in question doesn't think the chief is looking. Despite the fact that approaching the candidate for full access to their pages is questionable, perusing through their open postings is entirely worthy. Notwithstanding their long range informal communication pages, a see of a candidate's expert systems administration page can be useful, also. While people will in general be progressively held in their LinkedIn postings, for instance, bosses can analyze the candidate's resume against their online expert data to check whether there are any inconsistencies, and watching their online affiliations and system affiliations can be very uncovering. Assist candidates with becoming more acquainted with your organization The other side of doing a touch of online analyst work is to likewise furnish possible candidates with a superior image of your organization, what it resembles to work there, and what openings for work are accessible. Recruiting and preparing a decent worker is costly, however not close to as costly as employing and preparing somebody who simply doesn't fit into your organization's goals and culture. It is, in this way, similarly as critical to give planned representatives an exact viewpoint on your organization all things considered for you to make a precise evaluation of them. Post employment opportunities on your site that are sensibly definite. Give an exact depiction of your organization, its strategic, the board approach, and its way of life. To put it plainly, give planned candidates the data they have to decide if you are as acceptable a counterpart for them as they are for your organization. The web based recruiting process offers the two managers and candidates more data that has ever been accessible already. It can make a troublesome errand less trying for everybody included, insofar as the two gatherings are brilliant about their online exercises, and direct front about their desires and what they bring to the table. Second Job Interview 3 Tips to Get Hired
Second Job Interview 3 Tips to Get Hired Second Job Interview: 3 Tips to Get Hired Listen to Podcast Now: Listen in iTunes Download Audio File Been invited back for a second job interview and want to make sure to ace it? Join career expert and award-winning author Andrew LaCivita as he discusses the second job interview: 3 tips to get hired! Letâs talk about the second job interview. You know the one. They loved you so much the first time, they invited you back! Iâm going to give you three great tips. These are the exact same three tips I gave one of my Interview Intervention Course students, Hannah. She used them to get the job on her second interview. [Hannah, if youre watching, shout out to you. Hope youre enjoying the new job! For the rest of you, I want you to know the second interviews are not much differentâ"tacticallyâ"than the first interviews. All those videos Ive created on job interview tactics and my FREE webinar 3 Keys to Ace Any Job Interview will teach you how to answer and ask questions in a job interview. Use all that as foundational stuff. The second interview is about building deeper connections⦠The second job interview is about building a deeper connection, a deeper relationship, and more chemistry with the entire company. It is about getting them to imagine you as part of the team. You want them to feel as though youre part of the team. So, how do you do that? Sometimes when youre invited back, you are speaking with the same people you spoke with the first time, sometimes theyre new people, and sometimes itâs a mixture. Use these tactics across the board and adjust appropriately based on who youâre speaking with⦠Ask Again. The first technique I would use is when you are speaking with somebody you have previously spoken with (whether on the phone or in an interview). Ask about something youâve already spoken about. I call this the ask again technique. Say, Last time I was here you mentioned [insert whatever here]. It really stuck with me. I thought more about it and I wanted to get more insight into that as it relates to [insert whatever here.] Could you elaborateâ¦â This starts a deeper discussion on something youve already spoken about. Going deeper into the conversation on something both of you consider very important builds a deeper relationship. Ask More. The second tactic is to ask additional (new) questions. If you are speaking with somebody who youve previously spoken with previously, you want to make sure youre asking him or her a new batch of questions. If youâre speaking with someone you havenât spoken with, make sure you have lots and lots of great questions. Good questions show you are well-researched and you are very, very interested in investigating this company further. And, youre doing it in a smart way. Be Inclusive. The third tip is to be inclusive of other people. By that I mean, reference conversations youve had with others in the organization. [You can even use this in the first round of interviews.] Whether youre speaking with somebody you previously spoken with or youre speaking with new people, one the best tactics you can use is to refer to what you and someone spoke about and then ask for their opinion. For example, âI talked with Susie the other day and she mentioned [insert whatever here]. I loved that and Iâd like to get your insight on that. Could you elaborate on that as it relates to [insert whatever here]?â Consider the person youâre interviewing. Whether he or she is a subordinate of Susies, a peer, or a superior, you can adjust the angle of trajectory of your questioning and take it in the direction of that particular individual. Youâre showing them you enjoyed speaking with Susie, you found what she said delightful, and also want their opinion. You value their opinion and they with naturally see you as a team player. [You certainly sound like one!] As you start to reference others in the organization in a sincere way, the interviewer will start to feel like you are part of the team. As a bonus, this gives you an opportunity to make sure there is a level of consistency across their responses. Are they all on the same page? 7 Signs of a Bad Resume and How We Fixed It (Examples)
7 Signs of a Bad Resume and How We Fixed It (Examples) If youâve ever tried to write your own resume and been less than satisfied with the results, youâre not alone. Even those who follow templates often struggle to convey the right impression. The good news is that most bad resumes share some similar failings. More importantly, most of them can be corrected if you know how to identify their weaknesses. To show you what we mean, here is one bad resume example and what we did to fix it. An Example of a Bad Resume 7 Signs of a Bad Resume # 1 The Bad Resume Example Uses an Objective â" Replace it With a Summary In our bad resume, youâll notice that the job-seeker included an objective statement. In times past, the objective section was a traditional option in most resumes. With it, you can succinctly convey your career goals, and let any prospective employer know that youâre serious about the job. On the surface, that seems like an important thing to do, but many experts now agree that the objective has outworn its welcome in the modern era. So, what should you do instead of using an objective? Use a summary statement to better represent who you are, what youâve accomplished, and how you can benefit the prospective employer if youâre hired. The difference in presentation can be truly dramatic, since it allows you to focus on your value as an employee rather than on what you want from the company. Here is the Objective Statement on the resume: Looking to obtain a position as a software engineer and apply my many years of experience and skills. Boring! Here is an example of a resume summary instead: 10+ years of experience as a detail-oriented Software Engineer with a proven track record for gathering requirements then designing and developing applications. Excels at learning new technologies and applying them to develop clean and well-structured code. Experienced at working in a cross-functional environment at all stages of a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using either an Agile or a Waterfall methodology. Excellent collaborative team player and an outstanding communicator. See the difference? The summary enables you to provide a quick and concise overview of your employment history. You can use it to highlight your achievements, define special skills, and demonstrate your value. Usethe summary to focuson the benefits you can provide for the employer rather than what you hope to gain from the relationship. You could check out our post on writing a good resume summary here. #2 The Bad Resume Example Has an Uninspired Work Experience Section If you carefully examine the work experience section of the bad resume example, you may notice that itâs somewhat underwhelming. Yes, it meticulously lists the candidateâs positions and duties â" but it seems to be missing something. Itâs missing any real achievements that can catch a hiring managerâs eye. It reads like a dull recitation of facts, and lacks the type of context that todayâs hiring managers are seeking. There are few, if any, power verbs used in this laundry list of jobs held, and no metrics by which this candidateâs potential value can be assessed. Instead of just listing jobs and duties, youshould define your achievements. Donât say that you: âDeveloped sales plan using new and existing resources.â Instead, add real value to the description using tangible results. For example: âCreated dynamic sales strategy that boosted quarterly sales activity by 17%, increasing division profits by 12.6%.â That added specificity showcases the types of results that any new employer can expect to enjoy if he or she hires you. #3 No Skills or Core Competencies This resume also lacks the proper keywords needed to get past an ATS(Applicant Tracking System). Most companies use an ATS to automatically screen your resume and one of the major things it looks for are keywords that relate to the position/industry. An average of 75% of resumes are automatically rejected by an ATS so you want to ensure you have the right keywords to let the software know that youre a good match for the position. A resume should have a list of relevant core competencies or skills. This allows you to easily insert relevant keywords and tailor them to each position you apply to. Example: #4 Consider the Work Experience Word Choice We already touched on this a bit, but itâs worth repeating: word choice matters. Your verbs should be active and powerful, and your adjectives should help to reinforce the importance of your prior job roles. Donât just describe yourself as being âresponsible forâ some activity; choose words that are more active and productive. For example: Donât write that you were âresponsible for meeting January 2010 sales goal.:Do note that you âled sales team in achieving January 2010 sales goal, increasing sales by 23%.âDonât write that you ârepresented company at trade shows increasing new customer base.âInstead, write that you âserved as company trade show ambassador, enhancing new client acquisition by 15% over previous trade show outreach.â The goal is to insert value wherever possible. You want that hiring manager to read your resume and think, âThis guy/gal is a real go-getter. If he/she can provide our company with these kinds of benefits, it would be a mistake to pass on the opportunity!â Youâll also notice that there are areas within that work experience section where the candidate does promote value. Thatâs commendable, but even those areas could use some tightening to make them more dynamic. While benefits like increased accuracy and reduced overtime are impressive, those achievements would be even more impressive if they were backed up by statements defining the bottom line benefits they created for the employer. #5 Spelling Errors The example above has a spelling error and even a single error is enough to get you disqualified. Always read your resume over and give it over to someone else to proofread as well. #6 Poor Design and Layout The aesthetics in the example arent really pleasing. Sure, the content is what matters the most but you should also organize and format your resume to be easy on the eye. Hiring managers only spend a few seconds looking at your resume so you want to ensure your resume is neatly organized. Just make sure you dont include any designs, fancy colors or charts on your resume. It can be rejected by an ATS as it may be unable to process it and hiring managers are usually annoyed by resumes that look like art projects. #7 Information Not Tailored The fact is that you need to tailor your resume to have any real chance against other applicants. Thatâs the only way to ensure that you are properly addressing a given companyâs job requirements. This is also the best way to demonstrate that youâre the right person for the open position. A non-specific resume simply canât achieve that objective. Do you need multiple versions of your resume? No â" you can easily tailor your resume if itâs formatted properly. Take a look at this good resume example. Do you see the difference? As you can see from this bad resume example, many resume weaknesses are often less obvious than they first appear. Thatâs why itâs vital to have your self-created resume evaluated by others to ensure that it meets your needs. Friends, family, and professional resume companies can be critical resources in that regard. They can help you to identify areas of weakness so that your resume gets the attention that it deserves.

Beginning college - some functional tips Beginning college some reasonable tipsPosted October 13, 2011, by Elissa Collier Once the publicity of O-week has subsided and youre because of start your top of the line, you may be feeling somewhat befuddled (and possibly marginally hungover!) about what to really bring to college and how to discover your way around. Weve got some pragmatic data and tips on all you have to think about your first seven day stretch of college classes. A few speakers post address notes on the Internet before the talk, so its a decent choice to print these out and take them with you. It makes following the talk a lot simpler! A few understudies likewise record addresses so they can replay them and make study notes subsequently. Likewise, take a container of water you should keep hydrated, particularly if your class takes a couple of hours. Who to request help All colleges will have an understudy association, or association, which comprises of a leading body of understudy delegates. They are the ones who sort out O-week, gatherings and occasions, clubs and social orders, understudy news and magazines, and substantially more. On the off chance that solitary I get this compensation, I'll be glad. As indicated by the most recent research, our reasoning is in reverse. The detonating field of neuroscience has turned the idea of achievement prompts joy on its head. As it turns outs, a remarkable inverse is true: If I'm glad, at that point I'll be successful. Being cheerful is so basic to my official customers' expert achievement that I remember a full section for it in my book, The Glass Elevator: A Guide to Leadership Presence for Women on the Rise. The more joyful you are, the almost certain it is that you'll get the activity and compensation of your dreams. And once utilized, the more joyful you are, the more gainful you will be. By and large, 31% increasingly gainful. Their deals are additionally 37% higher, and their inventiveness is 200% higher. Unmistakably we have to support our bliss levels. fortunately a large portion of the elements that add to joy are totally in our control. Only a small 10% of our satisfaction depends on outer circumstances. That leaves us in some level of control of an incredible 90% of our joy. Probably the best indicator of achievement in your expert life is your optimism. You may think individuals are inalienably either hopeful or pessimistic. But there is decisive proof that we can really change our set focuses for hopefulness by seeing that our conduct makes a difference. Here are two demonstrated approaches to encounter this marvel and increment your satisfaction level (and there are others in The Glass Elevator). 1. Get off your bum Did you ever see that individuals who practice routinely are, as a rule, more sprightly than the individuals who don't? Exercise empowers you. It permits you accomplish more and it makes you more joyful. Thus, during your pursuit of employment, get off your bum. Research unmistakably shows that you don't have to contend in marathons to receive the empowering rewards of activity. Basically get going: Park your vehicle at the most distant finish of the parcel and walk. Use the stairwell. Request that a companion walk around you at night. 2. Practice appreciation Research has demonstrated that rehearsing appreciation can help our temperaments and make us quantifiably happier. Practicing appreciation implies bringing increasingly cognizant thankfulness into our lives consistently by making it a propensity, much like an activity schedule. There are numerous approaches to do this: Write in a diary every day about something important that occurred. Send an email each day with applause or because of somebody in your system. Offer 3 things you're appreciative for every day with a relative or satisfaction pal. While practice is solid for the body and outward articulation of thanks is plain old acceptable habits, when you do them reliably and intentionally, you will discover that they are rehearses extremely valuable (or compensation!).

Hiring Lessons From The White House
Recruiting Lessons From The White House Would you be able to find employed for a line of work you arent qualified for? Without a doubt, it can occur, yet it isnt simple. Many individuals choose to accomplish something other than what's expected and bounce into an alternate vocation. So as to make this jump, you need to demonstrate that some way or another your past experience qualifies you to play out the new position. Vocation consultants suggest featuring transferable aptitudes things like correspondence, critical thinking, and other overall aptitudes to connect capacities to the prerequisites of the new position. Here are three basic inquiries enrollment specialists/HR/bosses request to channel work up-and-comers: Can he/she carry out the responsibility? (experience/abilities) Does he/she need to carry out the responsibility? (inspiration) Would i be able to see myself working with him/her? (social fit) Anybody screening competitors knows there are numerous variables to consider and that recruiting isn't a definite science. Main concern nature of recruit is the most significant enrolling metric. What weve seen as of late from The White House makes you wonder who is settling on the employing choices. It requires some investment to get things fully operational and effectively actualize change. Sick watch, learn and pause. Shouldn't something be said about you? Meanwhile, here are exercises we would all be able to gain from The White Houses ongoing recruiting choices. It Started At The Top Choosing another CEO to execute change in an association happens pretty routinely. Be that as it may, heres the distinction. The chose CEO competitor has important work experience either in the activity or in the business. This implies the CEO competitor has implemented change-which is never a simple activity. We chose somebody who is probably a brilliant specialist. Hes demonstrated he can develop his business and individual riches through land improvement and a large group of opposite side organizations. There are a few reasons why this might not have been a solid match. To begin with, The President was the CEO of organizations he and his family began. Next, he was not a CEO of an organization that answered to investors. Lastly, the administration doesnt work like a business. It wasnt intended to. Our administration works by its own arrangement of rules and approaches, a significant number of which are explained in the Constitution, and arent effectively changed. Inadequate and Ill-Equipped A few occupations have decides or techniques that should be followed. Without a comprehension of these principles, it will be hard to play out the activity fittingly. Youve just witnessed what can when somebody without earlier interchanges experience gets recruited for a job that requires such information. Here and there transferable abilities sufficiently arent. This is the reason businesses are so dreadful about employing somebody without significant experience. Its Based On Who You Know As the platitude goes, its not what you know, its who you know (and who knows you). On the off chance that you dont have the capabilities for a vocation, one approach to sidestep the candidate following framework and continue to the meeting stage is to meet individuals who work inside the association. This surely appears to have worked for some ongoing recruits at The White House. Always Conduct Thorough Background Checks HR strategies as a rule require an individual verification on a pending activity candidate and talking with a few references. Theres valid justification for these means. This verifying is an approach to reveal any skeletons that might be in the competitors storage room. When Starting A New Job On the off chance that you are beginning a new position, need an advancement or simply need to clutch the activity you right now have, here are exercises to gain from The White Houses this year: Approach everybody with deference. Know the guidelines of the game and when to break them. Assemble trust by being honest. Be a wellspring of motivation and energy. Try not to lay it on the line. Listen cautiously. Try not to oversee by dread and terrorizing. Abstain from utilizing irreverence.

10 Typical Signs of Recruiter Behaviour on Social Media
10 Typical Signs of Recruiter Behaviour on Social Media Social Media in Recruitment, Social Recruitment, Social Recruiting, Online Recruitment, Digital Recruitment all of these skills are a necessary part of every recruiters daily lives. They are skills which mean that they start their day when they wake and check their phones, and are likely to still be working when they are in bed surfing in their PJs. But many recruitment firms have done almost nothing to strategise this area, let alone reduce risk or capitalise upon it. So many things have happened to the recruitment space in the last 13 years: Digital cameras (hence we now have online personalities). Smart phones (is that a computer in my pocket are you just glad to tweet me?) Social media (recruitment revolution or evolution?) An assumption that we are able to use social media to find the best staff. An assumption that because we have a LinkedIn account that we should drop our rates as recruitment is now just so easy. (The recession in brackets for a reason shhhh!) All of the above had have a major impact on the market, not to say the fact that clients (and candidates) also have had this environment thrust on to them. And as much as I work with many recruiters who seem to starting to grasp the need for this change to be capitalised upon, many more are still: Offering very little training to help recruiters integrate social media into an already busy business process. Drafting a social media policy which is more about âdonât do thatâ rather than âit can help you do thisâ and worse tucking it away in HR to get dusty assuming that this is classed as what lawyers will argue is reasonable response and the business is covered. Seeing social media as free and easy hence they are not taking it seriously enough. And this is resulting in lack of control and perceived ROI and some recruiters are ok with that(???) I see so many silly behaviours demonstrated every day by recruiters who need to be better at what they do if they (agency recruiters) are to get anything out of this recruitment revolution (and work better with clients, in-house HR and candidates). Typical behaviours include: Badly made up profiles expecting to be chatted up (score) Very little âhow toâ policy â" more of a âdonât you dareâ Primary social media activity is #job #hiring #jobs #me #MyCompany (yawn) Lots of candidate sourcing on LinkedIn, lots of job posting EVERYWHERE very little other meaningful activity You do great job of making recruitment look easy (youâre training clients to do their own recruitment) stop advertising so much! Very little lead gen, very little client sourcing/maintaining, very little competitor analysis Facebook is the devil and must be avoided at all costs Assumption that everyone is a job seeker Your website is where you invest your cash and time (see previous blogs about your LinkedIn company page being more important than your website) You are a LION and have a LinkedIn group therefore you are God! Behaviours are trained, or are as a result of a lack of training and the recruiter fills the void with what they believe is common sense. Recruitment leaders need to seriously consider this new environment (new to them, perhaps not new to their staff?) and think about some of the following: What are your objectives for being on social media? What is your strategy? What does success look like? What are you measuring? Who is the subject matter expert in your business? How are you going to integrate social media into your business as well as your business process? How are you going to reduce the risk to your business? It really is time for recruiters to stop-box-ticking-job-posting-time-wasting-everyone-is-a-candidate-assuming and start having a real and positive reason to be on social media, and get giddy about some tangible and £$⬠results.

The best questions to ask in an interview - Margaret Buj - Interview Coach
The best questions to ask in an interview Asking questions at the end of your interview could be the difference between an outstanding job offer and a shuffle back to your computer to complete more applications. But our latest research revealed that asking the wrong questions could lead to a similar fate as keeping schtum. Thankfully, we also discovered the best questions that candidates should ask in an interview. Hereâs a rundown of the top five questions you should be asking and why theyâre so great. Is there room for development in this position? In your interview, you may have already touched upon some of your duties and responsibilities in this role, which is great. But if youâre going to jump on board and stick around, itâs perfectly acceptable to find out whatâs in it for you in the long run too. 74.2% of UK workers said that asking âIs there room for development in this position?â was well-received in an interview. Not only does this question suggest that youâre genuinely intrigued in the position, but it also infers that youâre looking to commit to the company if they take you on. How would you describe the general culture of the company and the workplace? Most of your interview will be spent working out whether youâre a good fit for the role. However, you need to make sure the role and company is a good fit for you in return. 51.3% of the nationâs professionals found that asking about company culture helped them secure a job. And we donât doubt that. You could have the best job in the world, but if you donât identify with the company, believe in what it stands for, or fit with the people, the novelty could soon wear off. What are the team like that I will be working with? Asking about prospective colleagues gave 36.8% of UK workers job interview success according to our research. This question is great for two reasons. Firstly, it shows that youâre serious about the role and keen to get to know where you will fit in. Secondly, it will offer some peace of mind should you accept a job offer. If youâre aware of what to expect on your first day, such as the number of people in your team and their working style, you may avoid some of the newbie nerves. When can I start? According to 24.2% of professionals, asking about a start date is a great question to ask at the end of an interview. Firstly, if the interview has gone well, your prospective employer is likely to ask this anyway, so it shows youâve read the situation well. In addition, it highlights that youâre genuinely interested in the job and are keen to weigh up start dates with your own commitments, such as notice periods. We understand that this question might seem a little forward in a first interview, so itâs perfectly acceptable to ask it in your follow up email, or in your second interview when youâre more comfortable with the employer. How do you measure success? For 23.3% of British workers, asking a question about measuring or judging success scored them brownie points in an interview. This question suggests that youâre a goal-orientated person who likes a challenge and to achieve results. These are great attributes that all employers seek in their staff. Whatâs more, this question will give you a decent idea of how your performance will be judged. Therefore, youâll be familiar with whatâs expected of you in this new role and how you can excel. If you really want to impress in your next job interview, be sure to ask beneficial questions about the companyâs culture, teams and how they measure success. Not only will this help you paint a picture of what itâs like to work there, but it will also show the interviewer that youâre a conscientious vessel of talent worth having on board.
